THE STORY

sThe Wild is an expression of the philosophy and eclectic taste of the Varveris family, true lovers of Mykonos island.

The Visionaries

Although The Wild’s exquisite good taste and warm hospitality feel effortless, in truth the hotel’s success draws from half a century of heritage. The Wild is co-owned by Interni Group, a family-run collective of design, retail and hospitality ventures founded in 1974 by Nikos Varveris. Now run by his sons Alexandros and Filippos, the company’s holdings include the 13-strong Moda Bagno design retail stores chain, plus hotels and restaurants such as TwentyOne in Athens, and Interni Restaurant in Mykonos Town. The Varveris family evisioned The Wild, their flawless Mykonos hideaway, in partnership with architects Sofia Apergi and Matina Karava.

Wild at heart: Alex & Philip Varveris, the creative forces behind The Wild

“We wanted to preserve the emotions the island exhales—to encapsulate the essence of our Mykonos in a place that is wild at heart, mesmerizing, unspoiled, and effortlessly nonchalant, yet at the same time rich in culture, excitement, and cosmopolitan flair. It is the energy of this tiny Cycladic island that artists, bon vivants, free spirits, and insightful travelers have fallen in love with for decades.”

“We never rest. Every year, we introduce new experiences and continuously add something fresh—from a design chair to an antique piece, a kilim, or a handcrafted object—renewing the décor and the overall atmosphere. It is a work in progress, never truly finished, but rather evolving with us and with time.”
